Air Cooled Heat Exchangers -  GEA Rainey Corporation

P. C. McKenzie Company has proudly represented GEA Rainey Air Cooled Heat Exchanger Products for over 15 years.

GEA Rainey is a subsidiary of GEA Group, the world's largest heat transfer equipment technology group specializing in energy and thermal technology, as well as process, refrigeration and air treatment industries. GEA Rainey has the technological and financial resources to meet any requirements and has access to manufacturing facilities located throughout the world.

GEA Rainey has been and continues to be a global leader in the design and manufacture of air cooled heat exchanger equipment. For over 40 years GEA Rainey has met the needs of the chemical, petrochemical and power industries' cooler requirements, through engineering and construction firms or directly with end users.

GEA Coolers are ideally suited for natural gas compression/storage facilities playing an important role in gas and lube oil cooling applications. GEA Coolers can also be found in process applications, chemical plants and power industries.

Air cooled heat exchangers use finned tube pressure vessels in which a fluid is circulated. Ambient air is forced over these finned tube bundles to dissipate heat in the same fashion that your car’s radiator functions. In comparison to cooling towers, air cooled heat exchangers offer a green solution. They do not require water or the associated water make up due to drift and evaporation. Nor are there any chemical treatments required.

GEA Coolers are available in both Forced Draft and Induced Draft Designs.

Forced Draft coolers locate the fans beneath the tube bundle and force air up through the tubes to dissipate heat. Because the fans are located under the tube bundle, this design allows easy access to mechanical components and direct access to the tube bundle itself.

FORCED DRAFT

Induced Draft coolers utilize fans located on the topside of the tube bundle. These fans draw cooling air up through the tube bundle to provide a more efficient distribution of airflow. The advantages of this induced design include greater protection to the tube bundle as a result of the plenum positioning above the bundle, reduced potential for recirculation of hot air and reduced noise levels at ground level.

INDUCED DRAFT
