Condensate boiler feed pumps

Condensate is simply steam that has been "condensed" back into water after it has been utilized in a steam system.

This condensate is collected and sent back to the boiler for the simple reason that condensate is valuable. Fresh incoming water costs money, as does the energy required to heat it up.

Condensate returns have also been chemically treated prior to its introduction into the boiler so additional chemicals will not be needed - another money saving advantage.

Condensate feed pumps need to be properly sized to meet the specific demands of your boiler room. Pump performance must take into consideration the total dynamic head needed to overcome any pressure differences, including static head lift to the condensate, and the ability to overcome any losses in the condensate return piping. Then, as a general rule of thumb, add an additional 5 psig if the total pressure is 50 psig or less. Add 10 psig for anything over 50 psig.
